Solar Hope, in collaboration with Oregon Tech, is working on a 15 kW PV system for Brikama hospital in Banjul, Gambia, Africa. A maternity and emergency care center provides prenatal care, birthing activities, and post-natal care, serving a community of over 400,000 people, or approximately 20% of the more than 2 million people living in the country. The hospital is located in the western part of Gambia, Africa.
Solar Hope is working on an 8 kW PV system for Imiliwaha Health Center and School in Tanzania. The Health Center includes maternity, surgical, and dental centers. The health center is part of a convent located in the Njombe region in Southwestern Tanzania. The health center treats a minimum of 200 patients per month during parts of the year and significantly more during the rainy season when patients come from more remote locations to this, the only surgery center in the area. The building is composed of two operating rooms, laundry room, drying room, store, toilets and office rooms. This project will provide electricity for the health center and adjacent buildings.
